I was called to winemaking, following in the footsteps of my European forebears, who for centuries created wonderful wines.

Wine consumption with meals was a way of life in my formative years . My family planted a small vineyard in the ‘Alto Adige’ region of Northern Italy in the 1950’s and discussions around grape growing and winemaking was always passionate and enjoyable.

Since graduating from both Adelaide University and Roseworthy College, I have spent over 50 vintages learning my craft, working for some of the most prominent names in winemaking; including Penfolds Wine Australia and NZ and Orlando Wyndham.

I have had wide and varied technical experience as a winemaker for some of the finest vineyards in the world— from Italy to California, Australia and New Zealand. This increased my passion for the pursuit of higher quality produce, and variety in vintages.

Going solo as a winemaker gives me the freedom to explore, develop and express my love of wines. I am driven by a constant quest for improvement and continued education.

I choose only distinguished vineyards for each variety, ensuring the very best quality wines are produced. For Shiraz, it might be Barossa Valley, for Cabernet Sauvignon perhaps Coonawarra, it could be a Hunter Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio would lead me to Orange or the Adelaide Hills.

Being a winemaker can be demanding and requires a full-time commitment. Each vintage is different and brings new challenges and experiences but I wouldn’t swap it for the world.
